Last year, Gilberto Gil completed 70 years of life and 50 in career. And to honor him, Itaú Cultural GIL70 organized an exhibition with poet and graphic designer André Vallias and researcher and essayist Frederico Coelho. Featuring 23 works by artists like Alex Hornest , Omar Solomon, Carlos Nader, Arnaldo Antunes, Mariah Carey and Caetano Veloso the exhibition had its first staging at the Cultural Center Post Office in Rio de Janeiro, and can now be visited by the public in Brasilia.
In addition to the featured artists, the show also includes images, audios and videos about Gilberto Gil’s personal life and makes a contrast to his career accompanied by important events in history to reflect heavily on the work of the Bahian singer.
