Scott Weaver: The story of one man vs 100,000 toothpicks and a city by the bay…

Over 37 years ago, artist Scott Weaver began work on a complex kinetic sculpture he titled: Rolling through the Bay.  His sculpture, consisting of over 100,000 toothpicks, depicts landmarks and iconic symbols of San Francisco. And after 37 years and 3,000+ hours later, the sculpture standing at 9’ tall x 7’ wide x 30” deep is still being modified and expanded to this day.  The ‘tour’ of the sculpture delightfully begins by way of ping-pong balls… see for yourself:
