Next week at Lazarides Gallery’s Outsiders space in the northern English city of Newcastle, photographer Boogie will be opening a new solo show, Demons.
For the exhibition, Boogie used an antique photography techniques to bring out a “diabolical aspect from each of his modern-day subjects.” We have been seeing these images on Boogie’s blog for the past year, and they are stunning works.

We agree, you can’t go wrong with a Submarine Rollneck sweater from Nigel Cabourn.

This is pretty cool, Boogie posted this on his website: “The relationship between photography and the spirit world of ghosts, apparitions and angels during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century was a blending of popular belief and scientific fraud. The lack of sophistication in the public in an age of deeply held religious values and the generally accepted belief that the camera recorded truth allowed the unscrupulous to exploit the situation for financial gain.”
There is a whole portfolio online here.

Does anyone else think that Boogie was staying in a nice place?
