With the MOCA’s “Art In the Streets” opening this week in LA, we are reminded about our good friend and legendary chronicler of the NYC scene in the 1980s to the present, Ricky Powell. The Lazy Hustler himself. The Marv Albert of photography. He wouldn’t say that, and that may not make sense, but Ricky probably likes Marv Albert.
Ricky Powell, one of our longest running collaborators at UP, just curated the newest chapter of Frank151 (issue 43). 43. To coincide with the issue, Frank151 shot a video with Ricky to get his take on his curation, and because Ricky is Ricky, he is a great subject.
