When Lennon started to get really, really in acid. It was late 1966, early ’67, and Paul was getting heavy into his concept of Sgt Pepper’s, and Lennon was dipping into acid with reckless, creative abandon. Paul wrote more, Lennon wrote more interesting, and one of the gems of acid was “Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds.” And here is the video from the Yellow Submarine movie.

Never mind that in 1956, Bardot went to visit Picasso’s studio near Cannes during the famed Cannes Film Festival. That is interesting, but we are looking at Picasso’s style here. Swear to god, we were at Unionmade in SF yesterday, and almost bought the exact same look Picasso is going with here. We call this, in short, timeless.

When Supergrass opened up for Radiohead years ago, it killed two birds with one stone for us. We have always loved the underrated British rock group, and they had some of the most amazing sideburns in the history of rock sideburns. And “Late In the Day” is one of their best tracks. Good friend and a very fine artist, Sage Vaughn, who showed at our FIFTY24SF Gallery this past November and December, has his work in the epic Beastie Boy Mike D curated Transmission LA at MOCA 17-day exhibition. Mouthful, but you get it. We saw that Sage posted his wall of envelopes, which look especially fantastic all orderly like this. His envelopes are always really great snippets into his style and method, some of our favorite work around. Love this wall.
Love it when Mr Harrington does street works, with its fleeting nature and how it appears to be a relic from a past time. Here are is a new piece from the Irish-born, London-based artist in Dublin, Ireland. Beautiful, stunning work.
