We don’t like to report on the finances of our friends, so we will let David explain about why he, David Choe, was on the cover of the New York Times today, just below the Egypt soccer riots, and why he and Facebook will continue to be tied together in some sort of way.

I rub one out quick to a cacophony of moans and then I get up and see my picture on the cover of the new york times and I find out that I’m the most highest paid decorator alive……..To be continued ☺ LOL”
Melbourne’s Jeremy Geddes has his work on the cover of the newest February 2012 Juxtapoz, and that red is a stunner. Ashley Wood, one of our favorites, interviewed Geddes, as they have a show together at Jonathan LeVine Gallery later this year…
Nice one Dave. You probably know that our good friend Mr Choe had the “Thumbs Up” series on Vbs.tv, so we should have expected a nice (and this is nice) cover for VICE Magazine at some point. Looking good.
As Dave mentions… “2012 ENTER THE DRAGON!!!! let’s start this shit right! i just got my advance copy of VICE for january, i did my version of ,”year of the dragon” for the cover, you can’t see it so good in this picture, but thats metallic blue printed over super bright orange/pink we brought back some of that 90′s comic book frenzy shit. thisll be hitting streets in a week, i’ll post the alternate color cover, for the cities that didn’t want to spring for the metallics..”
Shepard does a nice look for the annual TIME Magazine “Person of the Year” cover. The Protester won this year. And to think, we thought it was going to be Ryan Braun, or David Stern, or Herman Cain.
A nice classic look to close out the year from Juxtapoz. We went to the Mark Ryden book signing at the SFMoMA a while back… nice guy, in that, OG, I sell work for hundreds of thousands of dollars sort of way.
We have never been huge Neck Face fans, but we definitely like the Lady Gaga reference in this piece, and we kind of feel like we are learning to enjoy his work a bit. Neck Face is on the cover of the new September 2011 issue of Juxtapoz, and we are excited to see Kaput in there. Good graffiti stuff from Vancouver right there.
Robyn, who is known to the world as a electro-pop but not on the radio star from Sweden, went to BBC1 recently for a little live recording, and pumped out this cover of the new Coldplay single “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.” Now, say the music was like this cover and Chris Martin was singing, then Coldplay would be making “artistic” strides toward something…
Our good friend, Oakland-based artist Monica Canilao, just made it on the cover of East Bay Express, but not just as any cover subject; she was voted best artist in the East Bay. We agree, she’s damn good. Go pick one up.
Michael Irvin is an icon of machismo NFL stars; cocaine, women, All-Pro, Hall of Fame, Dallas Cowboys, badass. The fact that he has come out in support of gay marriage, appeared on the cover of Out Magazine, and honored is late, gay brother with respectful, progressive language about gay rights in sports and the USA, makes him one of the better voices sports has had in years. A great moment for sports, gay rights, the NFL, Irvin, etc.
