Todd “REAS” James on recreating Street Market at MOCA’s Art In the Streets with Stephen Powers and Barry Mcgee

Of all the things we have heard about Jeffrey Deitch’s MOCA Art In the Streets show in LA, the fact that REAS, ESPO, and TWIST are recreating the seminal Street Market show in the museum is the best thing we have read.

REAS wrote on his blog “Myself Steve and Barry have been working on our new installation “STREET” aka “Donut Time” for the LA MOCA Art in the streets show. Alexis Ross Devin Flynn Josh Lazcano and Dan Murphy are joining us as well, here’s some vague imagery for now. Trucks ship out filled with junk next Saturday. More to come.”

One of the Run Up directors, Joey Garfield, just teamed with Steve “ESPO” Powers to produce and write A Love Letter For You, documenting ESPO’s 2009 mural project commissioned by the city of Philadelphia. . .

Nobody can lay down a line about graffiti and graffiti culture like ESPO. He has all the talent, and the gift of gab. Looks like a great film.
