MQ has relentlessly painted walls in countless cities for nearly 30 years, and although his signature block letters have maintained an unheard of consistency for that time frame, the body of his work has evolved and changed with the times and has repeatedly amazed with its cohesive and repetitious proficiency.

Mars-1, one of our favorite painters, opens Afterglow, his new solo show at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, this Thursday, May 26 in New York City. We have watched some of the pieces transform and progress over the past few months, and we know of 4 epic canvases that Mario has worked on.

It’s Sunday, and we were looking into some poster art ideas, and we wanted to show some of the work of one ofour favorite poster artist, Amsterdam-based Parra. There is something about Parra’s work that is instantly recognizable, and part of a lineage of other great European illustrators, as well as graphic and poster artists.

This is a great video done by Andrew Telling on Word To Mother from his time at Fame Festival 2010, where the British artist goes about the town of Grottaglie, Italy and paints the town, er, turquoise. We like to check on Word from time to time, as he showed at FIFTY24SF Gallery years back, and painted on our garbage cans; we see his name every morning whilst walking to work.
