This Chuck Close-esque portrait by Daniel Kornrumpf is really good. It is nice to see a different kind of media, as his work is hand stitched with died thread. His portraits are really personal and intimate and this medium gives a really interesting feel.

Maybe we are naive, but this Lush guy from Melbourne does really interesting graffiti work, very cartoony and cool. We saw some of his work on Them-Thangs a bit ago, and again we saw some of it on Curated. The statement of these two pieces is funny, too.

“I tend to do drawings of people fighting a lot,” says Travis Millard in a presentation to Google in Santa Monica. “It’s not because I’m really agro, but I’ve seen a few fights and think they’re really funny. […] No one really walks away a winner.” If you have a spare 51 minutes and 27 seconds, hear Travis talk about his work in an in-depth video presentation.

Steven ESPO Powers (Juxtapoz cover #83 ) gets a chance to break down his work for a PSFK 2010 conference. It’s typical Powers humor and offers some great insight into his history and most recent Love Letters project in Philly.
Brendan Monroe (Juxtapoz #113 ) currently lives and works in Stockholm Sweden with wife Evah and cat Jalapeño. His is featured in our new June issue and his work reminds us why neutrals sometimes speak loudest and of the joys in the subtleties of life.
