Weezer has a new album coming out September 14th called Hurley, but if you are like us, you don’t really care about that so much, and you haven’t really paid attention to Weezer since shortly after 1996’s cult classic, Pinkerton. Luckily for you and we, Weezer knows that a lot of people/original fans find most of their post-2000 work to be, how to we say this nicely, “not up to par by Blue/Pinkerton standards, so they are planning to tour just that, the Blue Album and Pinkerton.

Lead singer Rivers Cuomo told MTV, “We have this really exciting idea to do a tour where we spend two nights in each city, and the first night, we play the entire Blue Album, and the second night, we play the entirety of Pinkerton. We’re just running it by promoters right now to see if there’s sufficient interest in the markets to do something like that, and if they’re on board, it’s gonna happen.”

Yes, there is interest. Yes, that is cool. Yes, please do that.

(By the way, the Weezer b-sides from this era are incredible.)
