Fleet Foxes are one of the better “new” bands of the music scene over the past 5 years, and what we always like is that they have a created family to work with when it comes to music videos. Frontman Robin Pecknold’s brother, Sean, just made this great animation for the epic 8-minute song, “The Shrine/An Argument”, featuring some character illustrations from FIFTY24SEA Gallery alumnist (and Citrus feature) Stacey Rozich.

Thom Yorke gets all John Lennon on us. In talking about how the new album, The King of Limbs, came together, he gave a very honest answer about imitating and stealing. He told NPR’s Guy Raz, “We’re not trying to be experimental or anything. When I first started doing demo’s on my own, I was quite a good imitator. I see it in my daughter, she’s the same. You’re constantly learning from other music and then there’s that Lennon thing about it, ‘It’s not who you steal from, it’s how you steal.’ I’m constantly absorbing other music and that’s what stimulates me the most. And to have the ability within our group with Nigel to move around in all these different areas.”

The Nike MAG “Back to the Future/Marty McFly” shoe and marketing campaign has been the talk of the town over the past few weeks, with everyone who has ever been moved by a little McFly into the shoe. Nike just released a “A look back the a project 23 years in the making” video, which is like Behind the Music, only with a shoe.

NME, the British music magazine equivalent to US Weekly in the US, is in full Noel Gallagher vs Liam Gallagher, end of Oasis, solo careers burning mode. They just compiled a list of about 50 moments where, in Oasis, Liam and Noel got in a fight or argument over something. Most of it is when they were drunk. Or happy. Or when the music got bad.

Well, this is when you know Radiohead and Coldplay/Popular Music don’t belong in the same category. This is what Radiohead’s lead guitarist does in his time-off from Radiohead; makes a remix of Penderecki’s “Polymorphia”, titled “48 Responses to Polymorphia.” This went down in Poland “celebrating avant-garde Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki at the European Culture Congress in Wroclaw. Aphex Twin debuted his remix of ‘Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima’, the composition that earned Penderecki widespread recognition in the early stages of his career. He and Greenwood also premiered their versions of Penderecki’s ‘Polymorphia’.”

Music videos, because no one is trying to get them on MTV anymore, are being made far more interesting and far more creative. Except perhaps a Peter Gabriel video. Those are always good. This is really good.
