This awesome coaster set comes from Brooklyn’s Chen Chen, which is being called a “multi-material collaboration with Kai Tsien-Williams, will be available at the Sight Unseen pop-up shop in the Noho Design District.” Since we like to use words like dope, and cool, go here to read more about the International Contemporary Furniture Fair.

We were sad to see Sean, Alex, and the gang move off the block after their Zero Friends run at our pop up gallery, but happy to now see them in their L.A. location: 11135 Weddington St. Suite #112 North Hollywood, CA 91601

We’ve always strived to create unique experiences for our community, so recently we launched a series of pop-up shops in San Francisco’s Lower Haight to provide an outlet for some of the best up-and-coming brands to showcase their work.
As part of this series, Alex Pardee’s “Zerofriends” retail location will open it’s doors from September 1st – November 1st, 2010. Much like the location which popped up in New York City this last winter, the San Francisco Zerofriends location will feature the entire Zerofriends catalog of twisted apparel designs, prints and toys – along with some surprises to the tune of artist signings, exclusive product releases and unique events. Alex will be holding a grand opening celebration for the store on Saturday, September 4th from 2:00PM – 4:00PM where he’ll be “hanging, signing, and making bad puns live in person.”
ZEROFRIENDS STORE LOCATION:
September 1st – November 1st, 2010
248 Fillmore St (Haight & Fillmore, next to Upper Playground – Fillmore)
San Francisco, CA
Open Daily from 12-7PM

We have some new friends coming to the block, and it happens to be Alex Pardee and the ZeroFriends crew. They are opening a pop-up shop on Fillmore and Haight, bringing the ZeroFriends vibe to the neighborhood.
We all know how that went down last time.
Read Alex’s essay on the subject.

As we showed last week, Mayfourteenth is a new sunglass and eyewear company, with handmade frames at a 3rd generation eyewear studio in Argentina. We have some photos of the behind-the-scenes process of the making of the first collection of Mayfourteenth frames. Above, the workbench with Mayfourteenth microfibre clean cloth.

Upper Playground is presenting a series of pop up shops in the space that FIFTY24SF Gallery occupied before it moved to it’s new and improved space down the street.
The first in this line is MAYFOURTEENTH, which opens their doors today at 252 Fillmore in San Francisco. We’ve always aimed to create unique experiences for our neighborhood and community, and being able to share some of our favorite upcoming brands from the area with you is our newest phase of that.
All the info you need to know is right above you, and the spot is open daily from 12-8pm. You may also want to know that the eyewear is handmade in Argentina. And you may want to know that on top of making handmade sunglasses in Argentina, MAYFOURTEENTH will be selling vintage designer frames that they have collected over the years, as well as showcasing art pieces from Peter Gronquist. Stop by this month while the summer sun is around.
