Looks like Undefeated is moving into old HUF SF Space on Hayes Street

For customers, it is sort of the same stuff with a different logo, and perhaps Undefeated has a bit better shoe selection, but its still a bit of a bummer that an SF staple like HUF, a staple for nearly a decade, is really moving themselves completely to LA, and we are getting an LA staple here. They did paint the old HUF space black the other day, so we should have known better. Well, welcome Undefeated to SF. It will be a place to get shoes.

We have been noticing more graffiti in SF recently…

435110037305x430.jpg We have been noticing more graffiti in SF recently… the graffiti The Citrus Report San Francisco nation majority headlines Graffiti city

It is so awesome that we are in a city of just complete lunatics, crazies, and near shithole conditions, but we still want to spend $280,000 on paint a year to remove graffiti. And it is so awesome that the person in charge of graffiti removal in SF’s parks lives in Richmond. Which, in the rest of the nation/world speak, is like being the graffiti removal person in Los Angeles and living in Anaheim.

But, regardless, this is an interesting article on SF graffiti removal, as told by the man in charge of graff removal for the city’s parks. Our opinion has always been we don’t see the difference between graffiti and Verizon ads wherever we turn. Those ads are invasive to us, so graffiti at least to us seems like the counter to corporate interest. You can argue with us all day long about, we know that is not the majority opinion, but that is our opinion nonetheless.

But take a read of this Chronicle article.

It seems hats are making their comeback today, but if you truly love vintage hats you know how hard it is to find quality headwear that is just as striking as the ones your grandfather wore. Paul’s Hat Works is an unusual shop where they make their hats by hand and they do a damned good job at it. What’s even more interesting than their hats are the four ladies who run it, known as the 4 Pauls. A tip of the hat to them, g’d

INSA FIFTY24SF Gallery Heel Print San Francisco 1 550x550 SF Edition INSA prints now available online San Francisco prints limited edition INSA prints Insa FIFTY24SF Gallery

Upper Playground and FIFTY24SF Gallery are releasing new San Francisco special edition prints by INSA in conjunction with his ongoing exhibition at FIFTY24SF Gallery entitled ‘MORE’.

The prints are new takes by INSA on the now classic ‘Heel’ image that began to enter his work in 2004.  In the beginning, the image was simply an attempt to depart from the traditional macho driven culture that dominated graffiti – but has since become one of the defining images of INSA’s career and has been seen on countless walls in cities across the world.

The San Francisco editions of the prints come in six neon color ways and variations, to coincide with the neon murals that INSA accomplished throughout San Francisco over the last couple weeks.  Each print is executed as two colour silkscreens made using solvent based inks on Fabriano 5 300gsm paperstock. The prints measure 20″ x 28″ and are signed, blind-stamped and numbered by INSA.  Each color is limited to an edition of 15 and priced at $150 per print. Check them all out here.
