Mr Donwood, who showed at our FIFTY24SF Gallery in 2010, just released a new book, Household Worms in his webshop. The book is described as “Forty-one stories of varying lengths and levels of cheerfulness from the failing brain of Stanley Donwood. Ideal as a Zmas stocking filler for the slightly deranged. The same size as old fashioned Penguin books, this sumptuous paperback has 144 pages and an embossed cover featuring a detail from one of Mr Donwood’s linocuts, as well as a frontispiece and an endispiece (?) by Zachariah Twain.”
Stanley Donwood Occupy Movement Poster
November 21st, 2011Stanley Donwood, the fine artist and man behind Radiohead’s artwork, showed with our FIFTY24SF Gallery in the Fall of 2010, and we just saw that he created a poster for the Occupy Movement for people to “blow up, paste, copy, pass on, and do whatever with.” Download a hi-res version here.

The Euro Bailout Show at Post No Bills LA
July 26th, 2011
We visited that new Post No Bills space on Abbot Kinney in Venice a few weeks ago for the Faile show, and the space is really great, perfect for a solid art show. Next up this week is the Euro Bailout Show, featuring a Lazarides line-up (he is a part owner so we hear) of Anthony Micallef, Conor Harrington, Ian Francis, Jonathan Yeo, JR, Mode 2, Paul Insect, Stanley Donwood, Vhils, and Zevs.
Remember Mr. Donwood? He just showed at FIFTY24 a few months back, and Mr. Insect as well about 3 years ago. All good chaps.

Radiohead’s “The King of Limbs” Newspaper Edition looks grand
April 29th, 2011
We weren’t sure what to expect when one of the more progressive bands in the world says they are releasing the world’s first Newspaper Album with The King of Limbs. But now, thanks to Stanley Donwood speaking with Creative Review, we have a better idea of what is going to be in there.
According to CR, Donwood and the band wanted the King of Limbs artwork to express something less conclusive. “It’s not like the news stops when a newspaper comes out. It’s just ‘this is what’s happening today’. So this is released into the world on this day, and this is where this band are right now… it is a continuing thing.”
