One of TCR’s staffer is a UC Berkeley alumnist, and knows how good the art program at the BAM / PFA can be, and the University of California’s Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive was awarded a $100,000 grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts for a Barry McGee retrospective exhibition in 2012. We personally went down to Baja to get away from the crowded mayhem of the Golden State and returned just in time to catch some waves at Black’s in San Diego (we even got to use our semi-gun, in the summer!). They’re an immediate definition of style and culture for that moment in time, a physical world where music exists.
