so,

i get back to san francisco, get rid of my mexican stomach parasite, then its straight back to the drawing table. i made this piece, called “the revenge of the road bear” in the first week i was home from the northwest. i am really stoked on it, my first five layered cutout, and a new direction for me. its about a travelling sales bear, who raises complete fucking hell on his travels. here is the sketch, the finished piece, and some background music. if you are in or around nyc this weekend, please stop by the joshua liner gallery and check it out…

DEAR SEATTLE:
a big thanks to everyone who came out last saturday night to see my show. we had good times, showed some art, made new friends, and enjoyed a few laughs and some oat sodas while we were at it. that makes 7 out of 7 shows in 2010, and officially closes the art show part of “the road less travelled” mobile art tour. big thanks to jen at space 619 in pioneer square, jay and richard from upper playground, roy and candice of the seattle spb, and the good people of seattle for giving a shit. this song goes out to everyone who gives a shit. rest in peace jimi. next stop mexico…

We love Jeremy Fish on tour. He is kind of a rock star as is, so this will be his Pearl Jam moment in Seattle. After his stop this last Saturday at FIFTY24PDX (check out pictures here), Jeremy Fish is on his way to FIFTY24 Seattle this Saturday evening as part of his ‘The Road Less Traveled’ tour. The opening party will be going from 6PM – 9PM this Saturday, July 17th. Jeremy will be there, some new art by him will be there, the infamous Jeremy Fish van will be there, and good times of epic proportions will be there.

It’s Jeremy Fish time at Upper Playground, you could even say that we’re currently a little obsessed with that bearded artist…

As part of the third and final leg of Jeremy’s ‘The Road Less Traveled’ tour, he will be opening shows at the FIFTY24 Portland Gallery on Saturday July 10th, followed by a show at the FIFTY24 Seattle Gallery on Saturday July 17th. And along with the gallery openings Upper Playground is releasing a large capsule collection from Jeremy Fish’s superFishal line consisting of five T-shirts, a 59FIFTY New Era and two pillows.

The t-shirts all feature Jeremy’s signature creepy cuddly creatures as well as a couple takes on astrological signs. The 59FIFTY New Era is called ‘Acorny’ and is a perfect summer hat with straw exterior and a gold embroidered skull. And the pillows feature one of Jeremy’s most famous graphics, ‘I Left My Heart in SF’ and his pattern ‘Fowl Mood.’ All the products are available at Upper Playground retail locations and online at the Upper Playground Web Store.
