As a lot of you know, there was a 4-alarm fire a couple weeks back in an apartment building on the corner of our block at Fillmore x Haight. It resulted in three businesses losing their space indefinitely, Fecal Face having to move their gallery, and 30 residents losing their apartments along with most of their belongings. The amazing thing has been the out pour of support from the neighborhood for the situation, something we’ve been proud to be part of by donating packs of clothes to each of the residents (just because you lose your stuff, shouldn’t mean you no longer get to look good, right?).
But a lot of people still want to help, so at our Fillmore location we have released this tee and all the proceeds will go to the Haight and Fillmore Fire Fund (it’s set up by the neighborhood association and all the fund are going to be divvied between the people who were effected by the fire, tee is available only at the SF Fillmore location). If you’re not in the area and still want to support, the tee is available through the Fire Fund’s website for anyone who donates $100 or above.
From Upper Playground and Munk One comes two new tees from Munk’s new “Invisible Industries” brand. The Invisible Industries brand is Munk One’s personal sandbox for a constant flux of creativity, experimentation and freedom of expression. The artwork presented from the brand has been either been created by, or personally curated by Munk One, known for his fine art, commercial work, and interest in working in many different mediums and styles.
The first two offerings from Invisible Industries are the Unity Monster and MetalHead tees. According to Munk, the Unity Monster design is about the acceptance of differences out in the world in order to love and unite for better things. While the MetalHead design is a character that seems representative of a part of Munk One that feels the constant need to create and produce. Check both of the tees out here.
As a graffiti and sticker artist, PEZ has made a literally indelible mark on the city of San Francisco. His stickers are more prevalent than the incessant dreariness of San Francisco’s weather and his graffiti work continues to pop up around every turn. This t-shirt collection is influenced by the mark that the San Francisco Bay Area has left on PEZ, though. Regarding the tees he states, “I wanted to make designs that showed my love for the Bay Area.”

That’s Robin Williams wearing a superFishal Upper Playground t-shirt last night while firing up the crowd before the San Francisco Giant’s big playoff win over the Atlanta Braves (the tee’s called ‘Fog’). Jeremy Fish, nice design. Robin, you’re a Bay Area legend and thanks for the support. Tim Lincecum, we love you.

Upper Playground and Snoop Dogg are releasing a limited-edition micro collection of three t-shirts designed by Dustin Canalin (the creative director of UNDRCRWN). “This is a natural collaboration for me,” explains Snoop. “Upper Playground and Dustin understand my style, so they took a little bit of that classic Snoop Dogg and made it pop.”
Injecting a fresh take on an old-school style, Dustin Canalin uses the innovativeness that he’s brought to the table when working on logos for athletes like Chauncey Billups, Jason Richardson, Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan (to name a few) to design this new Snoop inspired collection. The result? Three brand-new t-shirts titled ‘Chronics‘, ‘Hockey Snoops‘, and ‘You Don’t Love Me‘ inspired by Snoop’s “Gin & Juice” music video which are available in very limited quantity exclusively at Snoop Dogg’s “Snoopermarket” and all of our retail locations and online store.
To celebrate the release of the tees, Snoop Dogg wants to give piece back to his Twitter followers who recently helped him break the “two million followers” mark – so Upper Playground and Snoop are holding a special giveaway where one person will receive the whole t-shirt collection and a VIP trip for them and a friend to see Snoop perform live and meet him after the show.
