Alex Pardee @ Urban Air, SF
January 14th, 2012We went and hung out with Alex Pardee this past week as he was painting a new mural at Urban Air in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco. We made him wear a horse mask, which made painting a lot easier.
Also, if you get time, Pardee has a show at the Zerofriends store in Oakland with photographer Chloe Rice that you should definitely go and check out. Here is a full list of images from that opening.

Tupac Cat by Alex Pardee and Zerofriends
May 17th, 2011
Alex Pardee and his zerofriends just put this magical gem out into the world, titled the “Tupac Cat.” As it is described, “Moments before Tupac Shakur’s death, he called upon an ancient Voodoo spell to transfer his soul into a cat. For 15 years following his death, this cat was trapped in the pound. Now he has finally been released and is back in the hood.” And now its on Funny Or Die.

Tupac’s Cat by Alex Pardee and zerofriends
May 17th, 2011So this is what Alex Pardee and friends are working on these days, the “Tupac Cat.” As it was told in ancient times, “Moments before Tupac Shakur’s death, he called upon an ancient Voodoo spell to transfer his soul into a cat. For 15 years following his death, this cat was trapped in the pound. Now he has finally been released and is back in the hood.”

Pop Culture by Alex Pardee
February 8th, 2011It could say “I Hate Tuesday.” Or any day really. But Garfield done by Alex Pardee, nice touch. Pardee and Zerofriends have taken a bunch of the “pop-culture” subjects they have covered over the past few years, and are having a print release.
Alex says: We decided to gather some of our favorite pop-culture related art from recent years and release it all at once. It’s a little scattered throughout the online store, so take a few minutes to spelunk around the interwebs of Zerofriends and perhaps you will see something you may have missed from your childhood. I love creating pop-culture inspired art, so stay tuned, as I’m sure we will have another handful in a few months:)

Alex Pardee’s “Vertigo” at Corey Helford Gallery opens this Saturday
January 4th, 2011Our good friend, past exhibiting FIFTY24SF gallery artist, often-collaborator, and #1 Zerofriend Alex Pardee opens a big solo show, Vertigo, at Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City, California this Saturday, January 8th. There has been quite a buzz around the show over the past few months as Alex has hunkered down in the East Bay in preparation.
What we do know: this is Alex’ first show working with acrylics, which should result in some good finishes. And we know the show is “inspired by a famous big game hunter from Kenya named Caleb ‘Verti’ Parker.” Alex also has said, “my approach was more mathematical than organic. For this exhibition, I wanted all of the paintings to be very different in subject matter, which I knew would be challenging if I didn’t discipline myself.”
Alex gave an exclusive to Juxtapoz, which you can read here.
Look at all of our apparel and books we have done with Alex Pardee here.

Alex Pardee x Organic Coffee
December 21st, 2010Alex Pardee is getting a coffee tribute. The people of Organic Coffee have teamed up with Pardee for a single-origin Costa Rican coffee (Las Lajas). The coffee has a rich aroma, hints of caramel, and a texture “like butter!” Come to think of it, Alex has a scent of caramel to him.
