According to The Telegraph North Korea is implementing state-sanctioned haircuts for men and women. Married women are instructed to keep their hair short, while the single ladies are allowed let loose with longer, curlier locks, all within the guidelines of the 14 hair styles approved by the ‘Dear Leader’. The Men also have stylish obligations to meet, making sure their hair is no longer than 2 inches long, while older men can grow up to 3 inches. The 14 options for men include:
None of which appear to be Kim Jon Eun’s preferred personal choice of style. But perhaps its his way of interpreting the world’s nostalgic fondness for the 80s and 90s. He’s saying we don’t get nostalgic, we actually ‘do’ the past.
