After 48 Years, The San Francisco Bay Guardian is forced to shut down this week: Final issue cover by Jeremy Fish

The San Francisco Bay Guardian which served as a weekly, leading progressive voice in the city of San Francisco since 1966, is closing after its final issue which was released this past Wednesday.  Jeremy Fish, who was asked to work on the cover art for its last ever issue said:

” With a broken heart, I proudly present the last issue ever of the San Francisco Bay Guardian.  I was unaware this would be the final issue when I drew it, but the day of the dead theme they requested seems so appropriate now as an SF institution dies a tragic death today.  RIP SFBG and thanks for everything over the years.  I will miss you.” – Jeremy Fish via Instagram

The Bay Guardian originally founded  by Bruce Brugmann and his wife, Jean Dibble, 48 years ago, will now be missed by the SF community.
