Istanbul-based painter Eda Gecikmez offers a surreal take on corporate culture.
She was born in 1984, in Istanbul. She studied Painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. During her studies she spent one year at Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, San Carlos Fine Arts, Spain. Since 2004 she has participated various group shows and international art projects in Turkey and abroad. Her recent works are mostly centered on issues around body, identity and gender politics, contemporary socio-cultural life, psychoanalysis and surrealism. Eda Gecikmez continues her practice at her studio in Istanbul.
