The world’s first 3D printing pen is called the 3Doodler. It lets you draw within 3 dimensional space turning any line into an instantly hardening 3D sculpture. Designed by WobbleWorks out of Boston, the team created a special plastic which is heated and instantly cooled to form any solid structure that you draw, wether it’s in the air or on a surface. 3Doodler uses 1ft strands of 3mm ABS or PLA plastic, the same material used by many 3D printers and it requires no software or computers. Each 1ft strand produces 11ft of 3D drawing.
“We wanted to design a 3D printing device that could be used within minutes, without needing any technical knowledge, software or computers.” – Peter Dilworth, Co-Founder
