Garbage Gets a Second Life in Lisbon

When we throw our garbage away, it typically ends up in a landfill somewhere, but when street artist Bordalo II finds it- he throws it up on a wall and turns it into art.  Over the years Bordalo II has been assembling and painting piles of trash to resemble animals and insects. This has not only become a practice of recycling discarded junk, but also a critique of our world, of consumerism, and of the cycle of obsolescence in our society. Scroll down to see the installations that Bordalo II has completed this year.
