In 1986 Ukraine experienced the greatest nuclear meltdown of all time at Chernobyl. Nearly 50,000 residents of the town of Pripyat were evacuated leaving behind schools, homes, factories, parks and gyms. Thirty years later cinematographer Danny Cooke explored the remains of the 20 mile long no-man’s land with his camera and a dosimeter Geiger counter. His short video entitled “Postcards From Pripyat” has become an eerie testament to nuclear disaster, urban decay, and the world of urban exploration.
